Portable food – Patisserie Lebeau’s Liege waffles is ready to go and ready to eat straight out of a lunch bag, it is convenient without sacrificing nutrition or quality, the clever packaging, which also makes the waffles portable and extremely convenient. It should also be noted that consumers will not lose waffles to freezer burn once the box is opened. Available in three varieties (original natural vanilla , natural dried apple & cinnamon and natural vanilla chocolate chip) Liege waffles contain no artificial ingredients and no trans fats. “People want quality, a reasonable price and consistency” says Olivier Lebeau. “If one of those is missing, then the value is not there.”
These are ready to eat. There is no need for pricey extras-necessary on the run-of-the-mill frozen waffle products-such as maple syrup or butter. Refusing to take the easy route, Lebeau uses fine ingredients such as real butter and specialty sugar in his waffles.
“Butter is difficult to work with,” says the Belgian native, a professionally trained pastry chef. “Shortening is much easier and can be used at any temperature, but it does not give you a very good product. We use butter, the only valuable and natural fat available for baking. It gives the waffle a unique flavour profile.” “By using natural ingredients only, we reduced the saturated fats and cut the cholesterol by half compared to the traditional Liege waffle recipe. Our waffles have no more calories than a medium-sized muffin or any similar morning pastry.”
Its 4000 square foot plant, equipped with state-of-the-art production facilities and checked by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. “Also our busy retail is an ongoing sample and advertising tool.” “We believe that using high quality ingredients is the best way to support the grocers, as our customer will refer the product to their families and friends and do the advertising for us. This is how retail enjoys steady growth and long-term success and it will be the same for the grocery line.”
Lebeau says grocers should realize that shelf placement and cross-merchandising is key to successfully selling the products. “We insert a dessert flyer in the Original Liege waffle box to show how versatile the pastry really is. All the ingredients for these fancy desserts can be purchased at the store. Merchandise the waffles near the ice cream and frozen fruits.” Keep an eye open for further varieties of Patisserie Lebeau products. These are winning items. |
